waterpark

Sara Beth is now doing something she has never done before a few weeks ago.  She is going to sleep in her room all by herself.  Yes, that's right, we went from rocking her to sleep to laying down with her until she fell asleep for three years.  Several months ago, this bedtime routine went from a bonding time that Chris and I both enjoyed to a nightly burden.  We started telling her when she turned 3, after bath, books, and prayers she would have to stay in bed by herself and fall asleep.  She did not like this idea.  At all.  We talked to her pediatrician about it at her 3 year check-up, and she suggested a reward system.  After going to sleep by herself for 10 nights, she would get a big reward.  We decided to take her to a water park, since she loved the day we spent at Shipwreck Island in Panama City Beach.  It took 12 nights for her to get 10 check marks, so today she was rewarded with a day at the water park.  My cousins, and 2 of Sara Beth's favorite girls, Carlie and Kylie were able to go with us, making the day that much more fun!

On our way!

Can you find Sara Beth?
There she is!

Ready to go down the big slide

All by herself!

Then we had an early dinner at Five Guys

She had so much fun celebrating her new "skill".  And in case you were wondering, she went to bed tonight all by herself with no more promise of a reward.  I think she's officially a big girl!  :)
